Synopsis

The sustainable blue economy offers a transformative pathway to harmonize economic growth with ecological resilience and social equity. Marine resources present vast opportunities through fisheries, aquaculture, renewable energy, tourism, and biotechnology industries that support millions of livelihoods worldwide and drive global GDP while addressing food, energy, and trade demands. Yet, this potential is threatened by overfishing, habitat degradation, pollution, and the escalating impacts of climate change. Governance gaps and insufficient collaboration further strain the management of marine ecosystems. Achieving balance demands innovative solutions, inclusive policymaking, and global cooperation. From renewable energy advancements to biotechnology breakthroughs, this book explores how technological innovation and sustainable practices can unlock the ocean’s untapped potential while safeguarding its ecological integrity. By aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), it underscores the urgent need for adaptive strategies to ensure marine resources benefit both present and future generations. This work is an essential resource for policymakers, researchers, and practitioners dedicated to building a resilient and equitable blue economy.

Order nowOrder via Whatsapp
ReferencesAbaei, M.
