Synopsis

Buku "Learning English: A Comprehensive Guide" dirancang untuk memberikan pengalaman belajar yang seimbang dengan menyentuh semua aspek keterampilan bahasa: berbicara, mendengarkan, membaca, dan menulis. Buku ini dirancang untuk mahasiswa dengan kemampuan tingkat menengah dan terdiri dari tujuh bab, yang topik-topiknya relevan dengan kehidupan mahasiswa. Setiap bab dirancang dengan pendekatan terstruktur dan terdiri dari komponen-komponen seperti Warm-up Activity, Dialogue, Vocabulary, Grammar, Listening, Reading, dan Writing.

Pada bagian Warm-up Activity dirancang untuk membangkitkan minat dan mengaktifkan pengetahuan awal pembaca. Bagian Dialogue memuat dialog yang relevan dengan situasi yang sering dihadapi oleh mahasiswa. Bagian Vocabulary dilengkapi dengan kosakata baru yang relevan dengan tema setiap bab. Bagian Grammar membahas berbagai aspek tata bahasa, mulai dari klasifikasi kata, struktur kalimat dasar, hingga penggunaan tenses. Selanjutnya, pada bagian Listening, pembaca diajak untuk mendengarkan percakapan atau monolog yang dapat meningkatkan keterampilan mendengarkan. Bagian Reading menyajikan teks bacaan yang menarik dan bervariasi, yang disertai dengan pertanyaan pemahaman untuk melatih keterampilan membaca. Terakhir, bagian Writing berfokus pada pengembangan keterampilan menulis yang mendorong pembaca untuk menulis paragraf hingga esai. Buku ajar ini membantu mengasah keterampilan praktis yang diperlukan untuk berkomunikasi dengan percaya diri dalam berbagai situasi akademik.

Author Biography

Ayu Pardede, Institut Teknologi Kalimantan

Born on December 12, 1992, is a lecturer at Kalimantan Institute of Technology. She holds a master degree in Foreign Languages with a focus on Applied English Linguistics from National Chiayi University in Taiwan. Her primary interest lies in understanding how language is used in real-life communication and how these insights can inform and improve language teaching practices. Her academic and research interests center on exploring the relationship between language, culture, and society, as well as investigating the complexities of language use, particularly among English language learners.
